Sad news if you’re a PlayStation Vita owner…well I’m sure many are, but sad news if you’re avid USER of the device, rather. Anyway, Sony announced earlier yesterday that they will be removing a few of PlayStation Vita’s applications. These include the YouTube app, and the Maps app. Also a few features of the Near social networking app will also be disabled. All of this will go into affect this March, aside from the YouTube app which will no longer function beginning April 20th.

Seems a bit strange that they would be disabling such features after swearing the PlayStation Vita isn’t going anywhere. Perhaps they are ending the handhelds misery quickly, to avoid it from having an even slower death.
