Famed strategy franchise Sid Meier’s Civilization and developer Firaxis Games appear to be having some issues exporting their product to PS Vita.

The hugely popular iOS and Android game Civilization Revolution 2 was previously scheduled to be released on portable platform PlayStation Vita in December 2015.  Shortly before launch, it was announced that launch had been postponed until January 26th, 2016. Now, Firaxis and Sid Meier studios are announcing again that released is being pushed back, this time to the ambiguous “sometime later this year [2016]”.

The delay was announced via a post on the game’s official facebook page, with only a brief caption explaining the delay, leaving myself and other fans a bit mystified. From the post;

‘Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for PlayStation Vita is now launching in North America and Europe later this year. The team is hard at work making sure the title lives up to fans’ expectations, and we appreciate your continued patience as we take the time needed to prepare the title for global release in 2016.’

While the need for perfection is completely understandable from the developer’s point of you, it’s still a little confusing, and leaves me wondering what kind of technical or promotional issues the team at Firaxis is facing, especially considering the game launched as scheduled without incident in Asia in December 2015.
