With the latest post on the official PlayStation blog, developer Naughty Dog has added a little humbug to your holiday cheer by revealing that the highly anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been again postponed, this time until April 26th, 2016.
Originally scheduled for a fall 2015 release, Uncharted 4 has now been postponed twice. From the post, written by directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley;
Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel in our hearts it’s the best course of action for the game. To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer.
Citing the need for more time to polish the game so it meets their “standards and vision”, Druckmann and Straley are keen to press the idea that waiting longer means a better product. Surprisingly, based on the few comments and threads I poked around, gamers are sharing that sentiment. Instead of angry comments, I saw a majority along the lines of “no worries, we know it will be great, just more time for you guys to make it better!”.
Generally, gamers do not display such patience.
The pressure is mounting on Naughty Dog to deliver.
