WHAT. THE. HELL. So no release date yet and no I’m not upset about that. I just felt like abusing a large Mario doll today. I also didn’t like that comment made during the gameplay portion ‘localization is in progress’. In progress? My diet has also been ‘in progress’ for some years now but that doesn’t mean a damn thing. So what did we learn from the direct, not a damn thing. Okay, to be fair there was a lot of information on the game but it was information we could have learned from the trailers. Or the spoilers that will inevitably rain on us from Japan in a week or so. This is probably one of the first video games in general I have ever seen that actually fit the idea of an open game world. Not only do things appear big but you can actually tell that they are big, especially when one of them steps on you. It feels like Skyrim crossed with Shadow of the Colossus, something I can really get into. It also seems to play a lot like Skyrim, a real time strategy style, except instead of magic you get… something else. It was really apparent that they did not want to give much, if anything, new away. They did explain the map and other features, mostly to show off the touch pad and prove it is not completely useless. Such as an object of some sort that lets you look around the area and plan a next move. The ‘not gundam’ style battle bots still look exciting and appear to function well in such a large world map. Did we get to see anything bot fighting though? No, just the same functions we already saw in previous trailers. So what do we know now we didn’t before? Not a damn thing, if anything I’m more concerned. Would it speed things up if I said I didn’t even want English speech? All I need is English subtitles and I’m good, save some money and save me time and get the thing done faster. Now if you will excuse me, Mario and I were playing Lambs… It puts the lotion on its skin…
