It’s about that time of year when Nintendo fan’s are starved for yet another Nintendo Direct, and while yes, we may have gotten at the beginning of the year, the void from a lack of one now, especially in the midst of the recent Summer Games Fest – is beginning to take effect. Now, while unfortunately this isn’t a Nintendo Direct announcement, Nintendo has announced that they’ll be hitting the road this Summer and may be coming to a city near you!
The Summer of Play Tour has been something Nintendo has done off and on for a good while. Obviously due to the recent pandemic, these were put on hold, but it seems they’re ready to bring the tradition back – starting as early as this weekend in fact! Nintendo fans will be able to visit Nintendo’s special Switch demo booth at specific locations across the U.S throughout the Summer, where attendees will be able to try demos for some of the most popular and beloved Nintendo Switch titles to date. Based on the image provided in their announcement, it seems attendees will be able to checkout special themed kiosk’s, and play demos for games such as Kirby & The Forgotten Land, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
While it is currently unknown exactly what else will be available for attendees to experience during these Summer of Play Tour, stops, rest assured you will at least be able to experience a very nice, large Nintendo themed booth, that is otherwise only really showcased during large scale gaming events such as Nintendo Live, or the PAX conventions.
