Reportedly addressing some of the biggest bugs plaguing the PC version of Fallout 4, Bethesda Softworks has released it’s latest beta patch for the hit game that has been setting astronomical sales numbers. The patch, currently only available to players who receive beta updates, appears to specifically fix 3 common issues PC gamers have been complaining about; “General memory and stability improvements, performance improvements inside the Corvega Assembly Plant, fixed issue with player becoming stuck in terminals.” As of right now, the patch is not available for Xbox One and PS4 players, but one is expected for console gamers in the…
All that glitters is not gold. For LucasArts’ and EA’s massively marketed monstrosity Star Wars: Battlefront, which was released on Tuesday, this is an apt metaphor. Objectively, based on first impressions, Battlefront is awe-inspiring. It’s nostalgic. It’s beautiful. But, it doesn’t take long for the awe to wear into monotony, and as you dig deeper into the game, yearning for more meaningful experiences after having fought over the same 8 or so maps for the past 4 hours, you find that Star Wars: Battlefront isn’t actually all that much more than a pretty shell. But what a shell it is.…
War. War never changes. In the Fallout universe, this rings especially true, and Bethesda made sure players get a hefty dose of nostalgia along with their radiation upon the much-anticipated return to the Wasteland. All of the franchise mainstays, running gags, and annoying quirks that have endeared me and others to the Wasteland remain, and the major gameplay changes that were made appear to work, at least for now. I have to admit, I came into this with the fear that, after all these years, and after so many disappointing new-gen titles, Fallout 4 would simply not feel the same. …
November 7th is upon us again, and as BioWare continues to roll out features for its annual celebration of the Mass Effect franchise, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda has been released to the public. Despite recent updates from BioWare confirming that Commander Shepard, the long-time protagonist to the series, will not be featured in Andromeda, the N7 day trailer features voice actress Jennifer Hale (voice of the female Shepard in the previous titles), as Shepard, telling us that we “are the explorers now.” Although this is little more than a teaser – there doesn’t appear…

This trailer also offers players a few teasers regarding the actual story line of the game, something we haven’t seen before in any Fallout 4 trailers or gameplay videos. Enjoy the visual feast below, and remember, Fallout 4 drops…
For RPG gamers, creating the perfect character, whether that’s a reflection of your own personality or an idealized visage of good/evil, is one of the most important and meaningful portions of the gameplay experience. Your character often determines what type of experience you will have as you play through the game. Are you a savior? Are you a devil? Somewhere in between? In the Fallout franchise, your character’s words and actions have a tremendous effect on the wasteland, and the outcomes of your character’s actions often depend largely on the choices you make, and also on your characters stats. The…

Social network gaming giant King Digital Entertainment as been taken over by Activision Blizzard, the latter paying an astonishing $5.9 billion for majority control of the shares. King, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, makes its claim to fame as the largest ever developer of games for facebook.com. You’re likely having a flashback to every time you opened Candy Crush on your phone, remembering that giant KING logo on the loading screen. According to CEO Bobby Kotick, the move places Activision Blizzard firmly in control of the interactive entertainment industry; “The combined revenues and profits solidify our position as the largest, most…
The developer behind the hits Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome has made a splash during Paris Games Week 2015 by announcing its next release, a VR title called Robinson: The Journey. Running on Crytek’s famed CryEngine, Robinson: The Journey looks poised to become one of first great titles for the new PlayStation VR platform, if the release trailer is to be any indication. Crytek, for it’s part, is promising crisp and breath-taking visuals, along with a compelling and emotionally complex story line, although specifics are scant at this point. Crytek gave limited details regarding the release after it was announced…
