We all have known a beta period was likely set to be on the way for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War title, and very possibly immediately following the multiplayer reveal which is set for next week, September 8th. Recent details have come out now regarding the games beta however, reported by CoD tracker, that information surrounding the Cold War beta have been found on within the in-game storefronts for both Call of Duty: Modern Wafare and Call of Duty: World War II. The details state that “early access to the Open Beta begins on October 8, first on PS4.

We know based on the Black Ops Cold War reveal trailer that PlayStation exclusivity will continue to some degree with Cold War, both PS4 players gaining beta access “at least 5 days earlier than any other platform”, meaning that Xbox and PC users may not be able to get their hands on the beta until close to a week, or later, following the betas launch on PS4. For those who are interested in immediately getting into the beta, according to the leak, users who pre-order any digital edition of Cold War will receive beta access, along with the Frank Woods operator and assault rifle weapon Blueprint to be used in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare alike.
