When NBA Playgrounds was first revealed, the first thing I thought was that the possibility of a Street Ball vol. 4 was basically inevitable, but then after awhile – I figured once again it probably will never happen, and today I’m even more certain of that, but it’s completely fine.
Saber Interactive has recently announced that NBA Playgrounds will be getting a sequel, and it’s scheduled to release this year. That’s right, NBA Playgrounds 2 is coming! If you’ve haven’t heard of NBA Playgrounds, it’s essentially an arcade take on the Street Ball franchise, and much more..how should I say, chibi? Either way, it’s a spiritual successor in a way, at least from how I see it – and I couldn’t be more happy that a second entry is well on the way.
NBA Playgrounds 2 will feature new online and local multiplayer modes, new courts, a ranking system with divisional ladders and more. The game will also contain rich single player content for those who may not be all that big on the online play.
While NBA Playgrounds 2 has yet to be given an official release date, the game is set to arrive this year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
