Nintendo fans and Sony fans are the remaining console fan-base who are still awaiting officials reveals for their respective upcoming, previously announced, platforms. The Nintendo NX on Nintendo’s side, and the recently rumored, PlayStation Neo, aka, PS4K/PS4.5. Regardless of all the waiting that has been going on lately, it seems Sony may be the first to step up to the plate to reveal exactly what they’ve been working on.
According to reports from Vice Gaming and Gameblog, Sony is currently preparing to hold an event in New York City, on September 7th, where they will then reveal the updated model of the PlayStation 4. While details at this time remain extremely slim as far as what exactly this console will sport, rumors have assured that 4K support for both gaming and video-playback would be included as a feature, along with much more powerful specs.
Aside from all this, the only thing we know for sure, from Sony themselves, is that a new version of the PlayStation 4 is in fact on the way, and will be arriving sometime later during Spring 2017. It was also revealed that this updated model will be able to play majority or PS4 titles.
Well Sony, I hope you bring out the big guns with this one, because I really do not want to be looking at purchasing a PS5 until 2020 at this point.
