It’s the end of an era, and one that which spans across various different systems. While it’s been YEARS since the PlayStation 3, or any of the PlayStation handhelds have been in the lime-light, it seems their final months to shine are here as Sony has announced that the PlayStation Store will be ceasing operations on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and all PSP models – this July. It’s a bittersweet feeling, we’ve all surely moved on to AT LEAST the PlayStation 4 by now, but one cannot help but remember all of the good times had during the PS3 era. Remember the PlayStation Network being down for several month? Yeah….me too. Good times.
For those of you who may still own the platforms and may be wanting to grab a digital title or too before the store closes up, you’ll be able to do so until July 2nd. It’s also worth noting that while you’ll be unable to purchase items from the PS Store after this date on these platforms, you will however, still be able to re-download titles and items that you have already purchased.
I know for a fact I’ll be getting my hands on Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown while I still can, along with whatever costumes may be purchasable. Perhaps Disgaea 3 and some of the older Ratchet & Clanks games wouldn’t be a bad idea either…
