Microsoft’s Digital Subscription Based video game service is set to finally give Xbox One owners the true option of “trying before you buy” with their Xbox Game Pass service. The service was revealed awhile back, and is set to be a digital video game rental service of sorts, which will allow subscribers of the service to install and fully play games that are currently part of the Xbox Game Pass service – to their Xbox One consoles.
Microsoft has announced today that the service will officially go live to the public on June 1st, as the service has been available for preview members for sometime now. Xbox Gold Members however, can begin a 14-day trial for the service today, and try it out to see if it’s your jam. It is worth noting however, that Xbox Live Gold subscription will not be required to use the service once it officially goes live; you just won’t be able to play rented titles in multiplayer mode, as expected.
Several titles from different franchises have already been confirmed to be on the way for the service such as Halo games, BioShock games, Gears of War games, and much more! You can checkout the full list of titles that are on the way, here.
