Move over PSN Gold and Xbox Live because someone else is getting into the free game scene. News recently released, but not at E3 for some reason, Ubisoft will be giving away one free game a month on PC through the rest of the year. Starting off with a bang they are beginning in June with one of their most highly acclaimed games Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. So if you want to return to or just play a classic game this is for you. There is no clue yet on what other games will be released in…
Cuphead is the insane combination of an LSD induced nightmare with 1930’s cartoons, the ones where everything has a face and smiles way too much for comfort. An indie run-and-gunner, it follows in the footsteps of games like Contra as being extremely fast and controller breaking difficult. While bizarre it is easily one of the best Indies coming out this year… presumably. Unfortunately it will only be coming out on Xbox and PC. What has been in development for years now is finally ready to come out. Unlike previous versions that displayed Cuphead as primarily a series of boss battle,…
Has one of my most anticipated games of the year, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma been delayed? It’s hard to say really. While the release date hasn’t changed on any website a number of fans who pre-ordered Zero Time Dilemma have recently received emails stating the game has been delayed with no eta in sight, including myself. While the email, which you can read below, was lengthy it offered no information on why the game which was supposed to come out June 28th on Vita, 3DS and Steam has been delayed. Needless to say, there are a lot of unhappy…
I’ve said for some time now that indie games are quickly becoming more prominent in the gaming world then AAA games. Indies focus more on making good games players will enjoy instead of redesigning the same game countless times to guarantee a profit. The most intriguing indie game at E3 had to be We Happy Few. Taking place in a Bioshock setting and drawing from stories like 1984 and Brave New World. A dystopian post WWII setting, players find themselves in a big brother situation, forced to take the hallucinogen Joy so they won’t see the world for what it…
I knew Hideo Kojima would be at E3 but I didn’t expect him to partner up with Sony. Not only that but he provided a bizarre teaser for his new companies, Kojima Productions, first game Death Stranding. While exciting with a lot of potential and the return of The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, it had everyone watching asking “wtf was that”. A beach covered in dead sea life, a naked Reedus in glowing handcuffs and handprints, a supposedly dead baby that melts into ink and (just to mind fuck everyone else) a group of people floating in the sky. Does…
I love it when I’m right and I totally called that God of War trailer. However, it isn’t God of War 4 as speculated but an all new God of War series. Apparently after killing all the Greek gods and stabbing himself, Kratos decided to just chill for hundreds of years, mess with some Norse gods and grow a crazy old man beard. While making such a drastic shift in local is questionable the developers mentioned that they completely rebuilt the old formula in a new location. It’s the same Kratos, just a lot older… with a crazy beard and…
ReCore was teased at E3 2015 but after that just fell off the radar, something that is usually a bad sign. In a surprise appearance at E3 2016 though fans discovered not only is it still alive but is slotted for a September 2016 release date. Microsoft fans were also graced with gameplay and introduced to some of the robot companions. It’s almost too bad the game will be on Xbox and PC only. If the game doesn’t blow you away then maybe its heritage will. The creator, Keiji Inafune, was also one of the main people behind the Mega…
The holidays are going to be a busy time for me but they just got a little more awesome with South Park: The Fractured But Whole (ha) coming in December… hopefully. The sequel to the surprise hit South Park: The Stick of Truth in 2014, Matt and Trey are back and making a bigger and better game. Or as they put it at last years E3 ‘nothing short of a 95 on metacritic’. Once again players find themselves as the new kid, aka Douchebag. After saving the world last time you have been made king. Unfortunately no one cares because…
New footage for The Walking Dead Season 3 was released and it looks like things have changed a lot. Everyone’s favorite little heroine Clementine is back but she isn’t so little anymore. It seems Telltale has pulled the time jump card and has sped Clementine all the way from being a child to her upper teens. While a great deal of time has clearly passed it doesn’t look like things have gotten any better in the world. Even the zombies have seen better days as Clementine kills an old and rotting walker. While exciting the trailer reveals very little and…
The Elder Scrolls received a lot of love at the Bethesda keynote, there was no Elder Scrolls 6 announcement but plenty of other stuff. The card based tie-in game Elder Scrolls: Legends was announced again. There still isn’t a solid release date but supposedly sometime this year and it will even be out on android devices. The trailer made it appear like much more than a card game though demonstrating it had some kind of plot. Will Bethesda be able to catch the same appeal they did with Fallout Shelter, their first smartphone game tie-in? There was plenty of talk…
