Quantum Suicide is an interesting visual novel on Kickstarter. Leaning heavily on very similar games like Virtues Last Reward and Danganronpa it is a murder mystery novel with added love interest. Something that seems like an odd combination to me but who takes dating advice from a dried out old mummy? The premise is interesting, AI goes rogue and starts forcing people to kill each other; I suppose facing the inevitable end would be a good aphrodisiac. What confuses me though is how an AI without a body or means of creating life or death scenarios makes sense. In Virtues…

So normally I hate most reality TV shows with a passion; if I want to laugh at someone getting hurt for doing stupid things I’ll just go online since ‘people doing stupid things’ is the corner stone of the internet. So I was a little weary when I saw an indie game on Kickstarter that appears to be based off of reality shows but then I noticed the host was a dog and took a look. Poltergus is a point and click adventure birthed directly from the same line of games like Sam and Max, Monkey Island and Grim Fandango.…

What to say about Fallout 4… well it is great but at the same time it is great for almost all the same reasons that Fallout 3 and New Vegas were great. Fallout 4 even fixed some of the things that fans have been bitching about for years. Hell, take out some key ideas and you could literally be reading a review for any of the more recent Fallout games. Make no mistake though it is the greatest game for a long time and the best open world game since Skyrim. If I had a diary of my time playing…

Oh god how long has it been since Fallout 4 came out… I feel likes that’s all I’ve been doing for days and with Battlefront arriving soon I may have to switch gears soon. Just to try something new I browsed through what was new on Kickstarter and found and interesting gem of an indie game. Pankapu: The Dreamkeeper is a 2D plat-forming game where you play as the little knight who can and thrash a bunch of nightmare goo. It reminds me a lot of Earthworm Jim, the good one on the Sega 16 bit I mean. At the…

So recently I took a look at a Kickstarter that intrigued me by the name of Doko Roko. Since then the campaign has been funded so I decided to reach out to the creator to get his thoughts on the game. I’m happy to say he agreed and the following is our conversation. -Congratulations on reaching your goal and early no less. Did you expect to do so well or did you have any concerns? I honestly was a little worried leading up to the launch! I had gained a pretty sizable Twitter and Tumblr following during my year…

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/narcissu-10th-anniversary-anthology-project?ref=nav_search So recently a Kickstarter called Narcissu 10th Anthology Project caught my attention and led me to Narcissu 1 and 2 on Steam. The game is a visual novel in the literal sense because it doesn’t actually have any choices or paths. I wouldn’t really categorize it as a game even but I suppose the definition of what makes a game is broad now and days. Personally I think that if they made this into an OVA or something it would be better. Even for a visual novel game it is very minimal, very little voice acting, repeating pictures which…

So I think it is a fact now that when the gaming community really wants something they can get it. Take Shenmue 3 for instance, people have been asking for the final part of that series for ages and when the gaming community was asked to handle the bill it gladly paid over 6 million. The Ouya received similar treatment but has since gone belly up… a fate that hopefully won’t be shared by Shenmue when it is released… eventually. Of course not all games that try to work around the normal system with KickStarter can say they did as…

I don’t know if it’s old age or years of gaming catching up to me but lately I find myself more and more let down by big main stream games and drawn towards the smaller indie titles. While AAA games get bigger, louder and shinier they don’t seem to get better anymore; like big industry games have fallen into a rut of pandering to the easiest and largest audience. The small games, made by the people for the people in sense, are carrying on the real gaming tradition. Periodically I go digging through Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight for things…

Alright the lineup for the PSN instant game collection is up and it totally makes up for the last few months. My only question is, why did it have to happen right before Fallout 4 and Battlefront?! I’ll be lucky if I remember to sleep at all in November. Seriously though they really brought the heat this time around on all fronts and I am a little impressed and possibly overwhelmed. On the PS4 we have Magicka 2, a top down, 2D, action adventure multiplayer game. I kind of remember the first one which was alright. The problem with this…

What the hell Ubisoft? I thought after all the shit you went through with Unity you would have learned your lesson. I’m not even really sure what happened here, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is like some bizarre experiment to see how close they could make it to AC Unity and get away with it. The parts that were shit are the same except they removed all multi-player which just feels like a real easy cop-out to me. Then everything good has been tweaked just onto the edge of terrible with anything new being interesting but annoying to use if not simply…
