So the title for Zero Escape 3 has finally been dropped, the final sequel in the mind twisting trilogy which includes Virtue’s Last Reward and Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. The name of Zero Escape 3 is officially Zero Time Dilemma, a play on the fact that you are literally trying to stop the end of the world and prevent the possible future in Virtue’s Last Reward. Fans have been waiting on this game for a long time due to its large cult following and after a struggle it has finally been announced. The game will be released in the summer…

So Halloween is upon us and maybe you have parties to go to or like me you live in the middle of nowhere hours from anything and need something to occupy your time. Well never fear I have a list of the top survival horror games to zone out to for the next week. Top of the list is Resident Evil 4, some people can deny it all they want but it is the best Resident Evil. The early resident evils were slow and looked funky; although with recent remasters they may have improved dramatically. Resident Evil 5 is alright…

Yoshi’s Woolly World is a game I have mixed feelings about; then again I can lean either way on most Nintendo games now and days. Nintendo being something I grew out of many years ago I generally only play their games when I am really interested in them beforehand. Zelda still has a free pass with me but if I don’t get a Wii U version soon I will cut that loose. Pokémon I have a kind of love hate relationship with, I try to resist buying the new installments but sooner or later I give in to my urge…

Corpse Party Blood Drive is an interesting game if a little disturbing at times. To be fair I have never played the previous games because only a couple made it state side and I don’t do download only games as a general rule. I have however seen and heard a lot about the previous games, specifically on how psychologically jarring and gore happy they are. Not ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ jarring but it gets the job done. It falls into that genre of horror movies that rely less on jump scares and more on how much blood and torture…

News has it that Yakuza 5 will finally get its world release date next month, which figures because I’m already crammed full with Fallout, Assassins Creed and Battlefront for the next month. In an information piece I did a while back on the remake of Yakuza 1 I mentioned that Yakuza 5 has already been out in Japan since 2012. Hell, Japan is about to get Yakuza 6 already, so by that logic everyone else will have to wait until nearly 2019 before we see it. The amount of time it takes them to subtitle everything takes as long as…

While I’m on the subject of Kickstarter I received news on the spiritual successor to PT, the Silent Hill game to end all horror games that will never be. It was also on Kickstarter but was canceled early… not that it had trouble getting the money after the hype PT caused. Instead of kickstarter though the developers will join forces with Team 17, the group that makes Worms and the rebirth of Banjoo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee. Supposedly they will still have the freedom to make the game as hardcore as PT and that sounds great. The trailer looks like a more refined…

I periodically check Kickstarter for any new game projects and today my movie friends sent me news on a what could be a huge project. Apparently there is a possibility for a new non-sucking Friday the 13th game and if you ever played the NES version you will understand what I mean; little tip it has nothing to do with the fact it is an NES game. A tantalizing combination of Evolve and Until Dawn you have a group of players being campers and one player gets to be Jason, I’m already sold. The developer list is AMAZING, including the franchise owner, the actor…

KickBeat is kind of a hard game to pin down. I liked it because it sounded great and it looked interesting to play but everything else was very meh or annoying. I’ve noted before that Rhythm games are kind of my guilty pleasure, there’s no reason to it I just enjoy them but I always have to wonder why afterword’s. I don’t mean the main stream ones either that rushed to make such new and specific games at the end the entire industry collapsed (Green Day Rock Band? Who the hell actually asked for that?) I mean the original ones,…

Broken Age is a point and click adventure game for the modern generation. Point and click adventures have, for the most part, been phased out of gaming except in that small part of the PC world. I don’t even have much to compare it with except for say Monkey Island or Blazing Dragons and that feels rather unfair. Many point and click games now and days needs help from the greater community, like a recent game I reviewed named Stray Cat Crossing. Double Fine has a wide audience already though, something they earned with Psychonauts but have yet to bring…

Back in my day there was only one kind of handheld system… okay only one system that didn’t suck and eventually fade into obscurity. The Nintendo Gameboy has been dominating the handheld market for years. Or sure you could play some games on your Texas Instrument or an oddly shaped single game handheld but that is boring. Then out of nowhere a new challenger appeared out of the most unlikely of places, Sony; starting with the PSP, then the PSP Go which was a terrible disaster and now the Vita. While it does alright it is fair to say that…
