Mad Max the game looks great, I know that doesn’t mean much anymore but for an open world game appearance counts for a lot. The rumors have been proven correct, Nuketown is back again as a pre order bonus map on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It should be a lot more interesting this time around. A map that small redesigned for power suits and wall jumping? Lets see how the trick shooters take this challenge.
There was Heavy Rain which became an unexpected part of the PS3’s claim to glory. Then there was Beyond: Two Souls, a game the PS3 couldn’t distance itself from fast enough. Now we have Until Dawn, which thankfully follows in the footsteps of Heavy Rain. Designed to be interchangeable with any teen horror movie Until Dawn has its issues but is still better than the average, hell it could even be called above average. Stray Cat Crossing is an intriguing indie game that uses mostly old school style 8 bit graphics in order to portray a PT style horror story. It’s only on Steam but it is also only like 3 dollars so it is a pretty good deal. Overall the game is very good, maybe even great but I do have some hang ups on it. The game primarily uses Resident Evil style puzzles where you interact with a series of colorful monsters but unlike Resident Evil they never really attack you. A lot of major games now and days lack charm, some more than others but it is a problem. Big companies try to appease the masses and come out with the same bland slop time after time, so what is the cure? Well I find indie games can solve the problem when people who still have actual vision make something great. So there is not much here yet, the game lagged… A LOT the first couple of days and it crashed a couple of times that completely messed up my PS4. Fair warning, I have not played a shooting game since I got the platinum trophy for Ghost and a lot of new mechanics were apparently added, I am more machine than man. I demand a recount! I want to see a birth certificate! That election was rigged! This must be what the Republicans felt like after Obama won… both times. Grow Home won the top spot for the ps4 game of the month, I’m not thrilled but that’s democracy. It won by 44% so maybe everyone who chose it knows something I don’t… Like all elections though I just don’t care either way and hope for an easy platinum out of the entire thing.
