Last August players were allowed to vote for one of the six free monthly games; then the other two not chosen were put on sale. An interesting title called Grow Home won last time and it was an ok game. Then for reasons unknown Sony just stopped the voting process. To be fair they never said it would be monthly but it still kind of felt like they were playing with our hearts. Well like a dog with a piece of meat dangled in front of it the free game vote is back again. It already feels as if they…
Awhile back I did a brief piece on a promising Kickstarter campaign called Quantum Suicide which was ended before I could do much more. Now the game is back and it is already doing great in only a day or so. I reached out to the developers at Cotton Candy Cyanide and they were good enough to do an awesome interview. Both Molten Cherry (MC) and Nyx (N) have taken part so there is a lot here for all the fans. -As this is your second campaign for Quantum Suicide what is different this time around and what makes you more…
February isn’t a great month for the free PSN games with a lot of unknown and less than interesting titles. On PS4 there is Nom Nom Galaxy and Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back (which is also available on PS3 and PS Vita). On PS3 we have Grid Autosport and Persona 4 : Arena Ultimax; the most unusual spin off I have seen in a long time but by far the best on this list. Then on PS Vita there is Nova-111 and Lemmings Touch. Its a good thing all the new games start coming out next week or I would be kind…
So apparently Pikachu hasn’t been aging very well, he sounds like my grandpa has been smoking. With the 20 year anniversary of Pokémon coming up Nintendo is really trying new things… new as far as Pokémon goes. First it was Pokémon on mobile and then it was Pokémon Tournament. Today a trailer was released for the newest game, Great Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Duo. Not only can Pikachu speak now but he seems to have embodied the spirit of Sherlock Holmes. Being the face of Pokémon for almost two decades it is hard to see Pikachu as anything…
-You name a number of influencers and your descriptions describes components influenced by other games but what would you say influenced you the most to make Wandersong? I was really inspired by the feeling of singing, and the experience I had riding my bicycle across America last year. -Are you creating every component of the game yourself? (i.e. Design, music, story and so on) So far I have done all of this. I’d like to bring in collaborators for audio with Kickstarter money 🙂 -You mention that you will be using live performance to improve the game but do you…
After only 16 days on Steam Greenlight, Ira – Act 1: Pilgrimage was Greeenlit by the community! We got a great response from Ira, and will now officially be able to release Act 1 on Steam upon completion. You can check out our Greenlight page here. Our Kickstarter is just past its halfway point, and with 14 days left we’re 61% funded. We’re excited about our progress, but we’ve got a ways to go yet, and driving traffic there is our main objective right now. Things are getting intense, and we’re buckling down for the final push. We’d love…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have a bizarre weakness for rhythm games. I get the beat in my system and can’t get it out again. There has been a couple of indie rhythm games recently I really hope get to be made, although to be fair it didn’t look so great the last time I checked. Recently another indie rhythm game has popped up called Wandersong, a title that makes my writing degree scream in agony. Kind of like Zelda, except your only weapon is your ocarina. You play as an epileptic bard with a…
One of my top expected games of the year Zero Time Dilemma will hopefully be coming out this summer but so far there has been little to no news on the actual game or anything else about it. Thanks to Facebook and a number of fans though we may finally have some kind of solid news or possible trailer. I can’t wait for this game to come out (and I have the watch bonus) but if I can get some kind of news to help me past the time it would help. So hopefully we will see something soon… although…
Where did the name Ira come from? The name ira came about for a couple different reasons. We were trying to come up with a name for our main character. We were looking through lists of hundreds of names from the time period and then we came across Ira. It really stood out to us because of its bold simplicity. When you select a name for a character (especially a main character) we found it’s important to have a name with the least amount of modern cultural association. It’s a name without unwanted contextual baggage. When we looked up its…
So as I continue to wait for my new games to start rolling in this year I just keep playing catch up and trying out the new indie stuff. You would think eventually there would be a dry period of indie games but there is always at least one thing. This time around it was Ira- Act 1: Pilgrimage. Despite the curious title the game is actually very interesting, a kind if sci-fi point and click adventure game with its hands in space exploration and time travel… kind of. It even has a demo which gives you a good idea…
