Duck Hunt released in 1984 on the NES wasn’t my favorite game growing up, primarily because I didn’t have a NES, but it was something. Until the mocking cackle of that damn dog pushed me over the edge at least. One of the earliest examples of ‘controllers that aren’t exactly a controller’ Duck Hunt also featured the NES Zapper. A gun styled controller players could use to play Duck Hunt, Clay Shoot and… come to think of it what else was it good for? An interesting gimmick even if it didn’t work well more than a few inches from the…

Was anyone else aware that you could stream the PS4 directly to computers now? I wasn’t, I stumbled upon it while looking up something else. Apparently in the last update Sony added the ability to stream gameplay directly from the system to PC and Mac. It’s surprisingly easy to do. With just one quick download, logging into your account and plugging a controller in you can play PS4 games on your computer. A lot like the gamepad and Wii U it provides another way to play games and watch TV at the same time. Unlike the Wii U however, where…

Bloody Chronicles is a beautifully designed game, but how many different areas can we expect to have by the end? Most of what has been displayed so far is only city backgrounds. – The story takes place in a city called Utna. That is why mostly you will see city backgrounds, rooms with victims, police station and Igrasil Headquarters. We are also working on a Beach Episode where you can also find amazing background. You mention the main character Kazuki can form relationships with NPCs. Can you elaborate on this? Does this mean the player can form love relationships? Can…

Senran Kagura: Estival Versus isn’t a great game, but it isn’t terrible either. While clearly not for everyone, especially the easily offended, it is fun to play if not taken seriously. Just as comedy can be used to combat racism, Senran Kagura can fight sexism by how ridiculous it is. No one should take Estival Versus literally, although of course some will (and they should be shunned). Estival Versus should be taken for what it is: a light-hearted look at the insanity Japan has created. It is difficult to even recommend this game, because it varies so much from person to person.…

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is still a great game. There really isn’t much more to say; Twilight Princess is still easily one of the best games in the Zelda series. Just as Twilight Princess was redone for the Wii, it has now been remastered for the Wii U. When The Wind Waker was remastered for the Wii U, most changes either improved the graphics, added gamepad support, or removed repetitive gameplay. Twilight Princess HD is the same: shiny new graphics at 1080p, some of the more repetitive missions removed/reduced, and a lot of touch pad gimmicks. For the…

So everyone seems to be jumping on the VR fad train now. There Rift is coming in at $600 and the Vive is coming in at a whopping $800. But if you’re lucky, you might score one for less at a local pawn shop. Well now Sony has brought out its version at only $400 but is that really all? Of course it isn’t since it also requires the PS4 camera which is still around a 100 for some reason. It will also require the move controllers, another fad that never took off unless I missed something; so that’s another…

-Where did the concept for the Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti originate? It is clear there is a lot of experience in games and music behind it but what specifically caused it? I’ve always had a passion for music and gaming. I think they share a lot of similarities. Both are, at least in their indie format, are created in bedrooms and studies, crafted with love and, in its better examples, display something unique about the people crafting them. They can convey great ideas on small, artful scopes. One thing that has always fascinated me about art is the world…

Things don’t look good for the Vita. Recently Sony basically announced that they were dumping the PS TV. Something that really shouldn’t be a surprise for anyone. While it is still unclear what the fate of the PS TV will be in the West it can’t end much better than it did in Japan. Not to mention that Sony has developed very few games for the Vita itself lately, leaving it up mostly to third party developers. My theory has been that Sony is gearing up to drop the entire handheld line in favor of their new VR line. With…

If you are like me and Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door were some of the best games you ever played back in the day then it is a good day. In the Nintendo Direct today Nintendo has announced a new game in the series, Paper Mario: Color Splash. Taking a note from Splatoon Mario will no longer be working with stickers but a paint hammer in order to return color to the world. From the environment to other characters, especially Toads, Mario will have to restore color in the world. After the lukewarm reception of Sticker Star there was concern…

Sony is really cutting it close this month, waiting until the last second to announce the free games for March. Once again many fans have taken to the comment boards to post how unhappy they are with the lineup again as well. So maybe Sony was right to try and wait on the update after all. Originally having PlayStation Plus was a good way to get old but big name titles for free. Over the last few months however it has begun to go downhill with fewer and fewer big name titles; leading into March which has none. Instead fans…
